Remembering

“While I am dealing with health issues, I am resting in the South of France, in my second home, and painting what I see. Little vignettes to remember how perfect little things are.”

Deconstructed

“When I walk in nature, I see shapes and colors melting together, surrounded by feelings and moods, translating them as “deconstructed” forms on the canvas. Space around us, sea, and land are my subjects in this series. I am fascinated by colors in nature, especially gold and black - Black being a binder and grounding everything. Gold is the shimmering universal light. I highlight composition and empty space, for the eye to move easily around, and for the brain to “reconstruct” the subject.”

Garrigue

“I have been living for 2 years in a small village in the Minervois region between Carcassonne and Narbonne, where the garrigue meets the Corbières. In summer as in winter, the landscapes are golden, blue and a multitude of greens. Here is a new series of large canvases with the movement of paths, clouds and dazzling colors.”

Mountains

“Beyond the garrigue and plateau, seat the Pyrénées Mountains between Spain and France. On a very clear day, you can see the tips and the white crests. But when you travel through the valons and the pics, you find beautiful blue and green landscapes. Here is a series of three paintings featuring an amazing relief.”
